Pro Shop Renovation
​The renovation of the pro shop area in an upscale Golf & Country Club located in a major metropolitan area posed several challenges.
The client desired an entirely new interior presentation that maintained the panoramic views of the two adjacent PGA-designed 18-hole courses.
The existing unique, free-standing hexagon-shaped building, four sides of which were glass, provided unobstructed views for staff to supervise the course. And an existing permanent 8-foot diameter internal spiral stair case was the primary access to the lower level offices and support area of the pro shop.
Incorporating these existing elements into a fresh, contemporary design approach that optimized the amount of display area while maintaining the scenic course view and required access to lower levels; provided us an opportuity to design innovative solutions for the client.
BHI has been the design firm of record for 30 years for this Club facility. The remodeling of the pro shop and the informal dining areas was the final phase of a comprehensive long-range master-plan renovation of the entire clubhouse facility.
